Time Distortion – Omega Seamaster Drawing
$2,500.00 CAD + applicable taxes
This original Omega Seamaster drawing explores the relationship between precision, distortion, and time through graphite and ink artwork inspired by the iconic dive watch.
What fascinates me about drawing the Omega Seamaster is the tension between precision and unpredictability. Known for its reliability and iconic clean design language, the Seamaster becomes, in this drawing, a symbol of time’s dual nature: structured yet elusive. The glitch effect running through the drawing evokes those moments when time bends or fractures, reminding us that our perception of time is never linear. Some moments feel stretched, fragmented, accelerated, or completely suspended. Translating that idea into graphite and ink was an exercise in patience, repetition, and observation. Every line, shadow, and interruption in the pattern mirrors the watchmaker’s own precision while acknowledging the inherent fluidity of experience. It’s a study in contrasts: stability and distortion, mechanics and perception, control and chaos.
Why This Watch?
I’m often drawn to watches that already carry a strong visual identity before the drawing process even begins. The Omega Seamaster has that instantly recognizable presence, but introducing distortion into something so structured created an entirely different challenge. Every interruption in the pattern had to feel intentional without losing the character of the watch itself.
What kept pulling me back to this piece was finding the balance between clarity and chaos. I wanted the drawing to shift between realism and abstraction while still preserving the feeling of the original timepiece.

Beyond the Drawing
Pieces like this remind me that watches are not only instruments for measuring time, but also objects people connect with emotionally. The longer I worked on this drawing, the more it became about perception, memory, and the strange way time can sometimes feel perfectly structured and completely unpredictable at once.
