Beyond the Dial – Patek Philippe 5316 Drawing
$2,500.00 CAD + applicable taxes
Some watches are admired for their appearance. Others invite you to wonder about everything hidden beneath the dial. The Patek Philippe 5316 has always been one of those watches for me. Behind its elegant exterior lies an extraordinary world of mechanical artistry, and hand-finished components that most people never get the chance to see.
With Beyond the Dial, I wanted to shift the focus away from the case and reveal the remarkable movement that makes this watch so captivating. Rather than drawing the watch as a complete object, I approached it almost like an anatomical study, inviting the viewer to discover it one detail at a time.
Why This Watch?
Mechanical watchmaking has always fascinated me because it combines engineering and artistry in equal measure. The Patek Philippe 5316 represents that balance beautifully. Every component has a purpose, yet together they create something that’s visually intricate and surprisingly elegant.
This drawing became an opportunity to celebrate those hidden details.
