This drawing is part of a commissioned series of five and features the Rolex Submariner “Hulk.” The green dial is unforgiving, too flat and it feels lifeless; too contrasty and it loses elegance. The colour was layered to create a subtle gradient, capturing the way it appears to shift and change in person while adding depth. Small adjustments and careful layering allowed the watch to reveal itself slowly, mirroring its real-life presence.
