Ranunculus in Bloom
Collection: Bloomscape
This drawing is all about patience. Ranunculus petals stack in these impossibly delicate layers, almost like paper spirals folding into one another. That softness is what drew me to it. Everything depends on tiny shifts in tone, barely-there shadows, faint curves, and gradual transitions.
Working on it reminded me how stillness can feel alive. Nothing dramatic happens in a ranunculus; it just quietly unfolds. And sometimes that quiet is exactly what makes a subject worth staring at for hours.
