Butterly to a Flame
Collection: Portraits
Butterfly to a Flame is a close-up portrait from 2006, drawn in graphite, coloured pencils, and a bit of marker. The butterfly sits right across the face, leaving only one eye visible between its wings. It’s one of those early mixed-media experiments where I tried to understand how different textures layer and blend, and how much a single detail (like an eye) can carry an entire composition.
