This drawing combines half of the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph’s dial with half of its caseback, allowing both sides of the watch to exist simultaneously. The composition highlights contrast and continuity, pairing the calm precision of the front with the intricate mechanical structure of the movement.

To avoid flattening the dial, particular attention was given to reflections and subtle shifts in tone across the case, creating depth and visual tension. As with the Datograph itself, the details reveal themselves gradually, layered decisions building complexity over time. The result is a drawing that rewards close observation, mirroring the experience of engaging with the watch in person.
